Cities, Centres of a Society
European cities reflect the economic and social way of living. They are an indication for the productive efficiency of a society. Building upon their cultural heritage attractive cities are a requirement for appropriate prosperity. Cities offer their inhabitants the requirements for life:
- An environment worth living and a clean climate
- Social and cultural values
- Roads and places that can be used for work, free time and communication
- A target-oriented infra structure
Innovative technologies and comprehensive knowledge for urban planning and edificial knowledge raise not only the quality of cities but also the competitiveness of the construction trade.
Tasks of the working group
The tasks of the working group are the identification of future-time demands in research in the sector of cities and buildings. Topics for example are:
- Improvement of the health and the quality of life of citizens
- Improvement of competitiveness and productivity
- Constitution of new business and contract models
- Development of a cooperation between users and producers
- Improvement of safety inside cities and in traffic
- Reduction of resource and space demands
- Reduction of resource consumption and green gas emission of buildings
