European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP)
In early 2004, the European Council for Construction Research Development and Innovation (ECCREDI) set up a working group to prepare detailed proposals for a technology platform in civil engineering.
The working group was close connected to the ongoing development of the E-CORE verbunden (European Construction Research Network).
Eventually the ECTP was established at the E-CORE B4E Conference in Maastricht on 14/15 October 2004. The ECTP is in its present form supported by representatives of construction trade organisations in Europe and is however open to all who wish to participate.
Objectives
Aim of the ECTP is to “limber up” Europe’s civil engineering for the coming decades. This applies to the focus on achieving tecnological leadership as well as a competitiveness on a global basis. This is applies particularly with regard to the forthcoming globalisation of markets and the civil engineering in particular.
