History

The foundation of the GCTP took place on the 12^th April 2005 at the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) in Bergisch Gladbach based upon an initiative of the BASt and STUVA. Founder members were:
 

• Bilfinger Berger AG,
• German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt),
• German Registered Association for Concrete and structural engineering (DBV),
• Registered Association of the German building industry (HDB),
• Research Association for Underground Transportation Facilities (STUVA),
• Ed. Züblin AG.

At the first meeting of the steering comittee on 2^nd May 2005 at the STUVA in Cologne:
 

• the GCTP representatives for ECTP/NTP-meetings have been elected
• the GCTP members have resolved upon the rules of procedure
• the discussion on the ECTP papers  "Vision 2030" and the strategic research agenda have begun

The GCTP opended up to all people interested in it with the first general assembly which was held on 31^st May 2005 at the BASt in Bergisch Gladbach.
